RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh man said he had to do a "triple take" after he scratched the winning $1 million top prize.
Bradley Groseclose bought his winning $10 50X The Cash ticket from the Food Lion on Eaton Ferry Road in Littleton.
In disbelief, Groseclose said he immediately called his wife to tell her the news.
"I called her and asked if she was standing up," he said. "I told her to sit down before I told her what happened."
Groseclose had the choice to receive his prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. He chose the lump sum of $600,000 and, after required tax withholdings, took home $430,503.
"This came at the perfect time," Groseclose said.
He said he plans to use his winnings to renovate his home.
The 50X The Cash game debuted in February with six top prizes of $1 million. Two $1 million prizes remain to be claimed.

Another Raleigh man took his chances at a second-chance drawing on Wednesday and won the $100,000 grand prize.
John Cafarelli won $100,000 in the first of two Mega Millions Second Chance drawings, where there were 327,646 other entries.
After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $71,750.
Players get a second chance with their Mega Millions tickets by scanning them into their lottery accounts, where they are automatically entered into the drawing. The drawing had one top prize of $100,000, five $10,000 prizes, and 35 winners of $2,500, according to the NC Education Lottery.
