Car linked to 20-years-old missing person cold case found in Nash Co.

NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Investigators in Nash County are revisiting a 20-year-old cold case after a car linked to a missing man was discovered submerged in water.

On Wednesday, authorities recovered a white Pontiac near Old Middlesex Road and Turkey Creek. The vehicle is confirmed to be the same car Travis Lamont Lynch was driving when he disappeared on Christmas Eve in 2003.

Lynch was last seen driving home from his girlfriend's house but never arrived in Wilson.

The FBI's Submersion Evidence Team has now joined the investigation to assist with uncovering new clues in the case.

The investigation remains active, and updates will be provided when available.
