Woman dies after being hit by driver while crossing South Saunders St. in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman died after being hit by a driver in Raleigh Tuesday morning.

According to the Raleigh Police Department (RPD), Tyesha Parker, 31, was crossing South Saunders Street around 4:40 a.m. when she was hit by a driver.

Parker died from her injuries.

Police say that the area where Parker was hit is intermittently illuminated by streetlights.

The driver remained on the scene and completed a field sobriety test, RPD says. The deadly accident is still under investigation.
