WILSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A WakeMed campus police officer is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after investigators say he kidnapped and assaulted a woman.
According to arrest warrants, 39-year-old Jeremy Lee Bohne of Wilson was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun, interfering with emergency communication, two counts of assault on a female and two counts of misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
The alleged incidents happened between May 27 and May 29, according to court records.
Records say Bohne unlawfully confined, restrained and moved a woman without her consent for the purpose of terrorizing her. Warrants allege he grabbed the woman by the arm and collar, pointed a long rifle at her and used a box cutter to cut her clothing.
According to the warrants, he also took her cellphone to prevent her from calling 911 after the alleged assault. In another instance, officials say he tried to pull her back into a home, causing her to fall to the ground.
Records state the two were in a dating relationship at the time of the alleged incidents.
WakeMed confirmed Bohne was employed as a campus police officer and said he has been suspended.
"The individual arrested for these charges has been suspended from employment as a WakeMed Campus Police officer as WakeMed conducts a thorough internal review while cooperating fully with external investigations," a spokesperson said. "He was suspended from employment immediately upon his arrest."
Bohne is scheduled to appear in court on June 1 in Wilson County.
