Several workers injured after explosion at International Paper plant in Warren County

MANSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- An explosion at a Warren County plant left several workers injured early Tuesday morning.

Warren County 911 dispatchers received reports just before 4 a.m. of an explosion at the International Paper facility at 967 U.S. Highway 1 in Manson, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation said.

First responders arrived shortly after the call and began assisting several employees who sustained injuries.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the explosion.

The Ridgeway Fire Department, the North Carolina Hazardous Materials Regional Response Team, the SBI, and the Warren County Sheriff's Office all assisted.
