Investigation underway after food truck employee shot in back in Durham, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman was hospitalized Tuesday morning following a shooting, Durham police said.

Chopper 11 captured footage of the scene on the 700 block of South Alston Avenue, where crime scene tape surrounded several vehicles and a white food truck.

According to police, a witness reported just before 7:20 a.m. that a man arrived to pick up an order at the food truck and shot a worker inside of the truck in the back. She was taken to a hospital.

Authorities confirmed that another worker and a child were also inside the food truck at the time but were not injured.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
