RALEIGH (WTVD) -- One person was seriously injured in an accident along Interstate 440 early Monday morning. According to the wreck report, drugs or alcohol are suspected to be factors.
It happened shortly before 4 a.m. at the ramp leading from southbound Capital Boulevard to I-440 West in Raleigh.
Police identified the man as 24-year-old Ricky Gonzalez-Cardona of Raleigh.
Police say he was driving on ramp when the car went off the road on the right side of the ramp, and the driver overcorrected.
He spun off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail.
Gonzalez-Cardona was taken to WakeMed.
The crash closed the ramp for several hours as authorities investigated.
