RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating an early morning fatal shooting.
Authorities received a call around 3:45 a.m. about shots being fired along Boddie and St. Albans drives, near New Hope Church Road.
When officers arrived, they discovered the body of 32-year-old Adrian Pugh at a home in the 1700 block of St. Albans Drive.
Calls to 911 indicated shots were fired and then a black car with chrome rims was seen speeding from the scene a short time later.
Raleigh police and CCBI were at the scene most of the day collecting evidence.
Phara Doah lives a couple of houses down from where the shooting happened. He said there is usually a party going on at the home and there was one Sunday night.
"A lot of smoking going on and drinking," Doah described.
Doah and other neighbors said they didn't hear gunshots. So they were shocked to see police and crime scene tape surrounding the home Monday morning.
"This morning I was surprised -- what's going on? I saw the police. The police was knocking my neighbor's door," he said.
A woman who works in the building next to the home on St. Albans Drive told ABC11 that a young family of three lived there, but she didn't know who was involved in the shooting.
"I would see them come home you know, about the time for the child to get out of school or something like that," said the woman. "But typically, it's very quiet."
Further details surrounding the incident have not been released, but police are calling it a suspicious death.
