Fayetteville police investigating rape at apartment complex

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Detectives are investigating a rape they say happened early Saturday in a parking lot at the Fayetteville Plantation Apartment complex.

Police said the victim was walking to her car to get some clothes around 2 a.m. An unknown man came up from behind and pushed the victim to the ground and raped her in the parking lot, according to authorities.

The suspect is described as 5 foot 10 inches to 6 foot 1 inches tall with a medium build. His race is unknown.

Detectives are asking for help identifying the suspect.
