RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Former, and possibly future, presidential candidate Rick Santorum was in Raleigh on Thursday to speak at a conservative conference.
Santorum took some time to speak with state legislators in the afternoon. He encouraged Republicans to take bold steps and drive conservative policy at the state level.
"I'm going to pass the buck to you. and say that many of these issues are not federal issues, they're state issues, that the state is going to have to start to grapple with if we're going to solve these problems on the education front in particular," said Santorum. "The federal government shouldn't be doing anything prescriptive on education."
Santorum told ABC11's Jon Camp that he expects to announce whether he'll make another run for the White House by late spring or early summer.
