CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A long-time anchor store at Cary Towne Center is now set to close.
Sears has announced that it will close its doors in mid-January. A liquidation sale will begin on Oct. 31.
The closing is one of many around the country as the company struggles with slumping sales and mounting debt.
The store's 66 employees will get severance, and will be eligible to apply for jobs at other Sears and Kmart stores in the area.
