Victim in January Durham shooting dies, case now investigated as homicide

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A man who was shot in early January recently died as a result of his wounds, according to Durham police Thursday.

The shooting happened on Jan. 4 around 6 p.m. at the corner of North Duke Street and Horton Road.

Police say a car driven by 20-year-old Dwight Grayer stopped at a traffic light, when a gray car pulled up next to him.

Several shots were fired from the car and Grayer was struck once.

Grayer suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time.
