16-year-old wanted in Lee County murder surrenders

LEE COUNTY (WTVD) -- Deputies say a 16-year-old behind a fatal shooting in Lee County surrendered Tuesday.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Taveun Dayquan Davis was wanted in the September 23 murder of Marcus Laverne Murchison in the 600 block of Beulah Brown Road.

Davis is accused of robbing and murdering Murchison as well as attempting to shoot and kill Murchison's girlfriend Heather Shontell Lindsey.

Davis is charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

He was held without bond in the Lee County jail.
