ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) -- Roanoke Rapids police said someone died after being shot and crashing their car Saturday evening.
Officers responded to a call around 7 p.m. about a vehicle crash at the intersection of Monroe Street and Preston Street. When they arrived, they said they found the victim with gunshot wounds. The person was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said it appears the victim was shot in the 100 block of Monroe Street and fled in a vehicle before hitting a parked car.
No word on the victim's identity or any suspects.
