First ABC11 African-American anchor inducted into the 2014 Hillside High School Hall of Fame

DURHAM (WTVD) -- ABC11's first African-American anchor, Ervin Hester, was inducted into the 2014 Hillside High School Hall of Fame Saturday night.

Hester made history in the early 1970's becoming the first African-American news anchor in the southeast.

Hester also made history in 1996 as the first African-American inducted into the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
