Local high school holds prom for special needs students in Wake County

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- It's an annual rite of passage for most high school students, but going to prom for these students with special needs in Wake County is about embracing what makes them incredible and unique.

The event was a collaborative effort, uniting students from Broughton, Athens Drive, and Leesville Road high schools.
