RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police need the public's help identifying the man they say drove his car through the front of a convenience store and stole multiple stacks of lottery tickets.
Authorities said the suspect drove a dark-colored SUV through the front of the Han-Dee Hugo's store on Durant Road around 4 a.m. on July 21.
He backed his vehicle out of the business and came into the store on foot. Once inside, the suspect stole three display stacks of N.C. Education Lottery tickets and fled.
Two days later, an RPD officer spotted a Jeep Cherokee in a parking lot on Falls of Neuse Road with lottery tickets inside. Follow-up investigation showed the Jeep was, in fact, the same SUV used for the burglary.
The Jeep was apparently stolen from its owner prior to the lottery ticket theft.
The suspect is a white man standing 5'10" with medium build and dark hair.
