The man wanted in a Columbus County murder is now charged in a double homicide.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) -- Investigators say a man already wanted in a Columbus County murder is now facing additional murder charges in connection with a double homicide in Roanoke Rapids.
The Roanoke Rapids Police Department has been investigating the deaths of Patrick Faircloth and Maraiah Thompson since June 22.
Detectives have been working with the Columbus County Sheriff's Office to determine whether the Roanoke Rapids killings are connected to a separate murder that occurred in Columbus County on June 11.
According to police, Eric Lamont Martin Jr., who is wanted in the June 11 homicide in Columbus County, has now been charged by the Roanoke Rapids Police Department with murder in connection with the deaths of Faircloth and Thompson.
Authorities say Martin should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police have also charged a second person, Isaiah Cooper, in connection with the June 22 investigation. Cooper was arrested July 1 and is charged with two counts of accessory after the fact and one count of obstruction of justice. He was given a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Halifax County court on July 8.
Investigators said the case has required extensive coordination and resources as agencies work to determine the connection between the two homicide investigations.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police say additional information may be released as the case develops.
Anyone with information about Martin's whereabouts or either investigation is asked to contact the Roanoke Rapids Police Department at 252-533-2810, Halifax Central Communications at 252-583-1991, or Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444. Callers can remain anonymous.
