RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman is facing a burglary charge after police say she broke into the home of NC State University’s Chancellor Kevin Howell.
Maya McKenzie Barbour from Fayetteville has been charged with first-degree burglary.
According to court documents, the incident happened on Sunday.
Howell was home at the time of the break-in.
He was installed as the 15th leader of N.C. State University in 2025.
It was a historic moment because the alumnus is the first African American and former student body president to become chancellor.
