ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman is dead after an overnight shooting in a parking lot in Roanoke Rapids.
Police say they were called to the parking lot of the Kirkwood Adams Civic Center at the intersection of 11th and Hamilton streets just after midnight after reports of a shooting.
When police arrived, they saw Willie Holmes running away from the scene and Priscilla Kee with a gunshot wound.
They believe Kee was shot while she was having some type of argument with Holmes.
She was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
Holmes was found a few blocks away with a gun.
He was arrested and charged with murder.
He's being held at the Halifax County Detention Center under no bond.
