Recent rainfall has improved water levels and eased some restrictions, but drought conditions continue to impact parts of central North Carolina.
As rain moved into the area Thursday evening, it offered long-awaited relief to farmers struggling through an unusually dry spring.
Looking ahead to the summer months, farmers and water managers alike say rainfall will be critical.
