Durham man charged in taxi-robbing spree
A Durham man was arrested Friday for robbing three taxi drivers at gunpoint over a two-week span.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A Durham man was arrested Friday for robbing three taxi drivers at gunpoint over a two-week span.

Christopher Mandy-Lasalle Holder, 31, was arrested around noon on Lakeland Street.

Holder is charged with committing three armed robberies. On April 28, Holder allegedly robbed a taxi driver in the 500 block of Hardee Street.

On May 1, Holder is accused of robbing a second driver, in the 600 block of Hardee Street. On May 7, officials said Holder robbed a third driver in the 1200 block of Dawkins Street.

In each robbery, the driver reported Holder was a customer either traveling to or from the reported destinations.

Holder was charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle (an earlier case).

Holder was placed in Durham County Jail under a $750,000 bond.
