Teen shot near NCCU campus in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A teenager was shot near N.C. Central University's campus in Durham early Saturday morning, police said.

Authorities told our crew on the scene that a 14-year-old boy was shot near the intersection of Lawson Street and Alston Avenue.

Officials said the boy is expected to recover.

Police believe the teen was with a group leaving a party when shots were fired.

Police did not release any information on any possible suspects.
