JORDAN LAKE (WTVD) -- You've heard of houseboats, and you've probably heard of tiny houses, but have you ever heard of a tiny houseboat?
Well, a local family made one. It sits on Jordan Lake, and you can even spend a night a there if you'd like.

Imagine the serenity of a quiet morning on Lake Jordan; now picture living in the middle of it all.
That's exactly what Gretchen and Darren Eck wanted - to capture the serenity of Jordan Lake with the creation of their tiny houseboat.
"It gives us so much more room than our other cabin cruiser we used to have," Gretchen said.
"It was really cramped because I had a little below deck area and a tiny little bathroom, and I thought let's build a tiny houseboat," her husband Darren said.
It's a pontoon boat that Darren turned into a tiny house after working on it for about a year.
You can check it out for yourself by renting it through Airbnb
The boat can hold up to six adults and sleeps two on a pullout, queen-sized bed.
"It only goes about 10 to 15 mph," Gretchen said. "It's just mainly for leisurely cruising."

The laid-back feeling is why they named the boat "Untucked," but just about everything there is tucked away to save space - like sliding doors for every cabinet in the kitchen and a barn door for the bathroom.
"It's only 128 feet squared so it's kind of challenging," Darren said, about the design. "A normal tiny house might be like three times as long."
On top of the 360-degree views of Jordan Lake, another interesting thing to note is that the houseboat runs primarily on solar power.
"We took a long time thinking through it," Gretchen said.
Now, they hope you'll want to go for a long cruise on there too.
