RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A new Capital Area Transit (CAT) fare increase took effect Wednesday. A cash fare has gone up from a dollar to $1.25. A day pass has climbed from $2 to $2.50.
City of Raleigh officials said the increase will allow CAT to continue to make improvements to bus services and facilities.
Projected revenues from the first year of the fare increase will be used to provide additional holiday service and designated route improvements.
