ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Department of Transportation was forced to close the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Roanoke Rapids for most of the morning Wednesday after a tractor-trailer truck overturned and caught fire.
Pictures from Chopper 11 HD showed lumber from the truck scattered across the highway near exit 173.
Investigators said the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. when a car veering into the next lane and collided with the truck.
