

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A large water main break in Cary has led to the closure of part of NC Highway 55. Crews have been working to repair it since early Monday morning.
According to Cary officials, the 30-inch water main break is impacting thousands of customers.
Water customers affected by the break in Cary and Morrisville are advised to boil their water for one minute or use bottled water until further notice.
N.C. 55 is closed in both directions between the Jenks Road and the Old Jenks Road intersection and the Lewey Drive and Turner Creek Road intersection.
Traffic is expected to be restored to one lane in each direction by 7 a.m. as conditions permit.
Drivers should use alternate routes and expect some delays.
