FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville have arrested two Fort Bragg soldiers in a homicide that happened in a Fayetteville restaurant parking lot earlier this month.

On Saturday, the Fayetteville Police Department announced they've arrested three men, among them two active-duty Fort Bragg soldiers.

The men are 20-year-old Ferris Brown, 19-year-old Javier Rashad Johnson, and 19-year-old Daivon Tahjai Chambers.

Ferris Brown is with the 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment and Javier Johnson is with the 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division.

On September 5, just before midnight, police officers said they spotted a lone vehicle while doing security checks near the Smokey Bones Restaurant on Skibo Road, about 1,000 feet from Cross Creek Mall.

The restaurant was still open with customers inside.

As officers investigated, they saw two men in the vehicle with gunshot wounds.

EMS was called to the scene and 18-year-old Dareon Tyrese Cook was pronounced dead.

Jonathan David Goodman, 32, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Police said that Goodman died September 7 from his injuries.

Last May, a man was shot in the parking lot of the busy restaurant.

At the time, police said the restaurant was packed with dinner customers, some of whom watched a drug deal in the parking lot go bad.
