CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- A building which created controversy on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus has been scrubbed of its controversial name.
Carolina Hall signs are now up outside the former Saunders Hall.
The UNC Board of Trustees voted last week in a vote of 10 to 3 to rename the hall.
It was originally named after UNC alumnus and former North Carolina Secretary of State William Saunders.
Saunders was also a confederate soldier and founder of the Ku Klux Klan in North Carolina.
