New photos show surviving Virginia victim shot during live interview on WDBJ sitting up, smiling

ROANOKE, Va. -- New photos released show the surviving victim of a tragic live television murder sitting up and smiling.

The photos were posted to Vicki Gardner's Facebook recovery page. Her family explained why they were able to post pictures now:

Gardner was shot while being interviewed live with WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and photographer Adam Ward near Roanoke, Virginia.

Parker and Ward were also shot and died as a result of their injuries.

Gardner was expected to get out of the hospital soon, but had a setback on Saturday:
