DURHAM, NC -- Join Durham Parks and Recreation on Sunday, April 27, from 12-5 p.m. at Durham Central Park, for a free, family-friendly Earth Day celebration! This year's theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," encourages everyone to harness their power for a greener, more sustainable world.
While there, enjoy the Earth Day Market, filled with environmentally conscious vendors. Explore the Sustainable Transportation Expo. Take advantage of the valet bicycle parking and safety check-ups. And drop off your paper documents for free shredding at 412 Morris St. (12-3 p.m. or until full).
There's also a Family Fun Zone with activities and face painting.
Don't forget to bring your refillable water bottle for the H2O 2 Go Hydration Station and check out the Durham County Library Bookmobile, where you can grab a book and sign up for a library card on-site!
The Durham Earth Day Festival even has its own parade featuring the Bull City Strutters. The parade kicks off at 2 p.m.
