WakeMed breaks ground on two new hospitals in Garner

GARNER, N.C. -- The push to add more doctors and more hospital beds to keep pace with the region's booming population.

WakeMed broke ground on a new campus today in Garner.

Governor Josh Stein attended the event that took place along Timber Drive east in Garner between Benson and White Oak roads.

It includes 'two' new hospitals all in one place. A 150-bed mental health hospital and a 45-bed acute care hospital, offering inpatient and outpatient services.
