WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- Wake Forest is wrapping up its annual two day Fourth of July celebration. The tradition is now in its 41st year attracting up to 3,500 people each night.
"This is the third longest tradition here and it's put on by volunteers," said Rhonda Alderman, Chairperson of the event.
It started Thursday night with fireworks at Wake Forest High School and continued Friday with the annual kids' parade down North Main Street.
All morning you could see children in red, white and blue riding bikes, pushing off on scooters and being pulled in wagons.
After the parade, families enjoyed food trucks, art and games at Holding Park to finish out the day.
