In coordination with NC Forest Service, an Increased Fire Danger Statement has been issued for all of central North Carolina for today. Southwesterly wind gusts will increase to 20-25 mph and will coincide with low relative humidity of 20 to 30 percent and dry fuels. Fires will be easier to start and will spread more efficiently with these conditions. Refer to your local burn-permitting authority on whether you may burn. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.More

In coordination with NC Forest Service, an Increased Fire Danger Statement has been issued for Tuesday for much of central North Carolina, including the northern Piedmont, Coastal Plain and most of the Sandhills. In the affected areas, southwesterly wind gusts ranging from 20-25 mph will coincide with low relative humidity of 20 to 30 percent and dry fuels to create elevated fire weather conditions.
