First Alert Noon Weather: May 10
Mother's Day weekend is looking great weather wise.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- First Alert Day Today 2pm-8pm: There is a Level 2 risk of severe storms in the Sandhills today as a disturbance tracks along a cold front. Damaging winds and hail are the main concerns, but an isolated tornado will be possible. Isolated storms will be possible as far north as the Raleigh this evening, with a level 1 severe risk.

Good morning! Expect some breaks in the clouds early this morning to allow for some sunshine ahead of the next round of clouds later this morning. Showers and thunderstorms still look most likely in southern and eastern portions of the area as a disturbance shifts through the region later today and tonight. Places across the south and far east could see hail and locally damaging winds in any thunderstorm most likely late this afternoon and this evening.

Prepare for a nice, dry stretch Saturday as high pressure builds over the mid-Atlantic. It'll be cooler, with Saturday morning lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. Highs Saturday will be in the low to mid 70s. A weak disturbance will swing through Saturday night, so this make spark off a few showers late Saturday night. Sunday will be bright and pleasant with highs in the mid and upper 70s.

Monday will be dry with highs near 80. More clouds will spread over the area late Monday. Shower and isolated storm chances increase Tuesday and will continue Wednesday. Drier conditions return Thursday ahead of the next chance for storms Friday.

Have a great day!
