Man dies after being hit by 3 vehicles in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man riding a moped died early Sunday morning after he was hit by 3 vehicles, WWAY reports.

Police spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay said it happened around 1:30 a.m. near 23rd Street and Scientific Park Drive. She said the man was wearing dark clothes and was riding in a dark area.

Lindsay said one car hit the man and he went into the road and then another two vehicles hit him. He died at the scene.

His name is being withheld until family is notified.
