Averette is also accused of setting three other fires:
- A building on the 6300 block of Squirrel Den Road; burned January 6, 2008.
- A building on Stone Whitley Road near Strickland Road; burned April 12.
- A building on the 4600 block of West Hornes Church Road; burned December 7.
Averette was released on $40,000 bond. Finch was released on $10,000.
Both men were volunteers with the Stanhope Fire Department. Detectives have not said why the men allegedly set the fires.
No one was hurt in any of the incidents.
