Perdue, Obama aide hold health reform meeting

GREENSBORO Several hundred people attended the meeting, which was also attended by Governor Beverly Perdue and the Obama administration.

A Rocky Mount resident told the group his insurance costs went through the roof after he lost his job and had heart bypass surgery.

A Charlotte newspaper publisher said he must decide between cutting health insurance or laying off employees. Their premiums increased 24 percent last year.

The forum was held at NC A&T University in Greensboro. White House health reform director Nancy-Ann DeParle said issues raised at the meeting are similar to those heard at other regional events.
