Police want to question man about murder

Police want to speak with a man who might have information about a murder.Police believe a Grays Creek man could have knowledge about the murder of of 25-year old Matthew Scott.

Authorities say Scott of 5813 Ajax Drive was shot and killed shortly after midnight on March 31.

A woman inside the home at the time told investigators she heard a struggle and then a loud popping noise. Scott was airlifted to Chapel Hill where he later died.

Investigators have made several attempts to talk with 37-year old Preston Paul Evans, Jr., of 1104 Cypress Lakes Road, but have been unsuccessful.

Detectives are hoping Evans has information to help located Scott's murderer. Evans is described as a heavy set black male with deadlocks. He is five feet eleven inches tall and weighs approximately 210 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
