Authorities say the incident was caused by a couple of crashes. Drivers experienced backups for about seven miles.
Another wreck, this time on I-40, involved three vehicles and caused several lanes to close around 2:30 p.m.
Two cars and a van were involved in the accident in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at I-540.
It took about a half an hour to get traffic rolling back to normal.
