The city's planning department proposed a schedule to the Raleigh City Council Tuesday afternoon. The council approved taking until June to look into a concept.
Starting in May, the city will call for ideas and hold a design competition slated to wrap up in September. From September through January 2010, the city will approve a final design and a team to carry it out.
