Investigators say a 1996 Honda Accord driven by Chadius Watson, 18, was travelling south on Sunnybrook. In addition to Watson, the Honda was occupied by four passengers: Kevin Jones, 18, Jonathan Jerel Smith, 18, Louis Owen Walker Jr, 17, Jabari Dixon, 19.
Watson apparently lost control of his vehicle and it collided head-on with a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country that was traveling north.
Kevin Jones - a student at Southeast Raleigh High School - was pronounced dead on the scene. The other occupants of both vehicles were transported to WakeMed for treatment of injuries.
The investigation of the wreck continues and no charges have been filed at this time.
