Two of the suspects were captured on surveillance tape at a convenience store near the time of the robbery.
The 18-year old victim said he was walking home from gospel choir practice at Southview High School when he was jumped by four or five suspects.
He was beaten and robbed behind the dollar General store on Legion Road at around 6:15 p.m. The suspects fled the scene in a four-door, red in color, Saturn ION. They are described at black males ranging between the ages of 18 to 20 years old.
Investigators say the victim suffered a cut on the back of his ear and neck and a contusion to the forehead during the robbery. The suspects apologized for their actions after determining the victim didn't have anything of value in his pockets or backpack.
Anyone with information about these suspects is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500 or 484-TIPS.
