He's been criticized for hugging and kissing a teenage female page, and allegations that he was drinking before being clocked driving his car over 100 mph.
"Conducting oneself in an honorable and ethical manner while acting as a public servant should be a mandate for both political parties," said Daves. "The North Carolina Republican Party is committed to recruiting candidates for public office who are men and women of unwavering integrity and honesty. All others need not apply."
A General Assembly report issued Thursday called Allred's behavior with the page inappropriate.
Allred said he'll leave the Republican Party because fellow legislators took part in the probe. He says he'll become unaffiliated.
