Two food mart murder suspects arrested

FAYETTEVILLE Shane Tradale Johnson, 20, turned himself in to police Wednesday. He is being held under a $35,000 bond in connection with the murder of 30-year-old store owner Waheed Abdulla.

Abdulla died as a result of a gunshot wound from a stray bullet.

Police say in addition to an involuntary manslaughter charge, Johnson also faces an unrelated robbery with dangerous weapon charge.

A second victim, Demetrius Deshawn Johnson, was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of Ya-Ya Food Mart on Murchison Road around 1 a.m. on June 27. He later died at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Michael McLaurin is charged in connection with Johnson's murder. He faces a first-degree charge. Police say authorities arrested McLaurin in Darlington County, SC Wednesday. He was found hiding in the woods.

McLaurin is being held in Cumberland County without bond.
