Women charged with motel robbery

SPRING LAKE Sonya Johnson Claytor, 38 of Fayetteville, and 21-year-old Brittany Renee Ervin of Whiteville are charged with common law robbery and felony conspiracy.

Investigators say Claytor and Ervin knocked on the door of a guest at the motel on August 27 and propositioned him for sex. When he refused, the women allegedly pushed the man to the floor, stole his wallet and fled the scene.

Deputies arrested the women early Monday morning when someone reported seeing Claytor's photo in the newspaper and called authorities.

Both women are being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $10,000.
