Officials identify Navy casualty

CAMP LEJEUNE Petty Officer 3rd Class Benjamin P. Castiglione, 21, of Howell, Mich., died Thursday while in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Details surrounding his death have not been released.

He was a Camp Lejeune hospital corpsman. Castiglione was assigned to Company D, 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade.

He joined the Navy in November 2006, deployed to Afghanistan in June and was previously deployed to Iraq from March to October 2008.
