Man attacks woman near NC State

RALEIGH Police said a 49-year-old woman was sitting on a bench in the 100 block of Chamberlain Street behind shops on Hillsborough Street near NC State's campus, when she said she was attacked.

She told officers she yelled for help as another person was walking by and then called police.

Authorities arrested Eddie Harris and charged him with kidnapping and attempted second degree rape.

Further details about the incident have not been released.
