Teens arrested for school break-ins

CUMBERLAND COUNTY Police arrested 18-year-old Joseph Rene Rault, Jr., 16-year-old Steven Nicolas Taylor and 19-year-old Jeremy Wellington Cox on Wednesday.

Investigators say the teens allegedly broke out windows in some temporary classrooms at Sherwood Park Elementary School on Hopes Mills Road Monday and stole a projector, laptop computer, a play station, television, microwave, radio and a small refrigerator.

Rault, Taylor and Wellington have also been charged with breaking into a concession stand at Grays Creek High School on Tuesday. Investigators say they gained access to the building through the ceiling of a nearby bathroom and allegedly took sodas, candy and meat products.

The stolen items were found in a car they were riding in.

All three teens are charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

They are being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
