An SUV driven by 39-year-old Susan Beasley-Tamer of Williamson, GA was T-boned after investigators say she went through a stop sign. Beasley-Tamer and her passenger - 61-year-old Jane McCrary Beasley of Brooks, GA - died. Troopers said the women may not have known the road well because they were from out of state.
After the crash, the local fire chief told ABC11 Eyewitness News changes were needed at the intersection. He said there are three to five fatal wrecks there a year.
Now, the Department of Transportation said it will change the intersection into a 4-way stop. Work will begin December 21.
